01. Greetings

Hello! Welcome to the Songpa Book Museum. The Songpa Book Museum, which opened on April 23, 2019, is South Korea’s first public museum specializing in books. The museum introduces Korean book culture, organizes exhibitions, plans and operates academic research and educational programs, and archives artifacts.
The permanent exhibitions at the Songpa Book Museum comprises the following three parts: Part 1, Relish the Culture, Part 2, Communication, and Part 3, Creation. The permanent exhibitions explore important books and the reading culture in South Korea from the Joseon dynasty to the present day, and also examine the production process of books. Before we start the tour, let’s watch a brief video and reflect on ‘what the book means to each of us.’
